Our Story & Mission

For over 18 years, we have proudly served individuals and families across Central Ohio with a genuine commitment to care that goes beyond basic services—we lead with compassion, understanding, and a true heart for helping others.

At the core of our work is our mission: “Together We Become One.” This belief guides how we serve, how we connect, and how we build relationships. It means walking alongside the individuals and families we support, creating a sense of unity, trust, and shared purpose. We don’t just provide services—we become part of a team, working together toward stability, growth, and independence.

Lend A Hand Services began with a thrift shop and a day program, built on a vision to serve the community in a meaningful and hands-on way. Over time, that vision grew into something much larger. As needs in the community became more apparent, we expanded into providing care directly in individuals’ homes—offering in-home support, including 24/7 staffing, for those who required a higher level of care and consistency.

From early on, we stepped in to support individuals with more complex needs, including behavioral cases and individuals requiring structured, high-level support. Our willingness to meet people where they were—especially in more challenging situations—helped shape the foundation of who we are today.

Our founder and Director brings a deep and meaningful background in the mental health field, including extensive experience working with individuals transitioning out of developmental centers and mental health institutions. This experience has played a critical role in shaping our approach—one that focuses on stability, compassion, and understanding during some of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life.

What started as a small, community-focused effort quickly grew through word of mouth, trust, and a reputation for genuinely caring about the people we serve.

From those early beginnings in Franklin County, we have expanded our reach to support individuals across multiple counties throughout Central Ohio. Today, we proudly serve clients in Franklin, Licking, Knox, Union, Delaware, and Fairfield Counties, continuing to build strong relationships within each community we enter. As the need for compassionate, reliable services continues to grow, we remain committed to expanding into additional counties—bringing our mission and level of care to even more individuals and families.

We specialize in Homemaker Personal Care services for individuals on Medicaid Level One and Individual Options (I/O) waivers, offering personalized support that promotes independence, confidence, and safety in daily life. But our work extends far beyond traditional care.

At Lend A Hand Services, we understand that every individual’s journey is unique. Our team has experience supporting a wide range of needs, including developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and other complex needs. This broad experience allows us to meet people where they are—with empathy, flexibility, and a deep understanding of the challenges they may be facing.

Our leadership brings a strong background in the mental health field, shaping the way we approach every service we provide. We recognize that true support means looking at the whole person—not just their immediate needs—and creating environments where individuals feel seen, heard, and valued.

Through Sunshine Housing, we have developed a strong history of providing housing solutions during times of need. From temporary housing during transitions to structured sober living environments, we are committed to offering safe, supportive spaces that create stability and forward momentum. Whether someone is navigating a housing crisis or simply in need of a fresh start, we are here to help guide that process with care and understanding.
